An Elegant Winter Wedding in the City | Brooke + Trip

Brooke + Trip chose January for their wedding in Ohio. It was a welcome change from the hot and humid summer weddings that we have had. There is always the fear of a blizzard or ice storm when planning winter weddings, but the weather cooperated and gave us some beautiful white snow just in time for their portraits.
When I arrived at the hotel, Brooke was getting ready with her girls in the Juliette suite. The talented team with Sarah Delaine Brides was working on hair and makeup while the girls enjoyed some brunch and girl time before getting Brooke into her dress for the first look.

When it finally came to to make her way to her Groom, Brooke took a deep breath and slowly walked down the stairs where Trip was patiently waiting with my second photographer, Desttany. I loved their sweet moment together and I am so happy they opted for this first look in such a beautiful location.

Shortly after, we loaded into the limo bus and went to the Museum of Art to take the group photos. It was a balmy 20 degrees, so we worked fast to try to keep anyone from freezing. The girls were all such good sports about taking off their soft, fluffy jackets that Brooke gifted them for a few photos. And right before we got back on the bus, Trip popped some champagne, making an epic photo of the entire group. It was pretty great! We took some portraits around Case where both Brooke + Trip attended school. It seemed kind of sweet to return to their campus (even though they didn't meet there!)

We returned to the hotel for their ceremony in the Tudor Ballroom. The room was warm and filled with beautiful light pouring in from the big, beautiful windows. The aisleway between the gold chivari chairs was lined with candles and fresh greenery. The couple chose to have Trips sister and her husband officiate the ceremony which added a fun and meaningful charm to their vows. After the I Do's and the very romantic first kiss, they walked up the aisle and provided a beautiful dip kiss for me to capture, amazing!

Their ceremony was in the crystal ballroom down the hall. Everywhere we looked it was so elegant and so beautiful. Joy with Garden by the Gate did an incredible job on the bouquets, centerpieces all the flowers for the wedding. Everything looked incredible! The entire day was so wonderful and so heartfelt, from the ceremony to the speeches and the special toast to Brooke's father, everything was perfectly planned. I am so lucky that I got to be part of it all.

Thank you to Brooke + Trip as well as their family and friends for having me along on such a special day. Congratulations to you both!
